"I don't belong here"

Elizabeth Wurst

Duration: 40 Min.

Performance Description

Elizabeth Wurst used a found object, a shopping cart from the river, to address her concerns about nature and consumerism. She created a co-dependency between herself and the trolley, while singing love pop-songs that talk about the you and the me. She expresses the close relationship between consumerism needs, individuality and environment.
Wurst removed this sunken trolley from the pond and pushed it back singing to the supermarket.
When she arrived she placed it, as a subversive act, where it belonged.
